Mission Statement
To recognise and fully support carers in Bath
and North East Somerset (B&NES)
Objectives
To achieve our aim we will:
- Provide information
and advice that is comprehensive, accurate and
appropriate to the needs of individual Carers,
so that they are aware of the choices and options
available to them.
- Work with carers individually and collectively
to support them in stating their views in relation to the delivery and planning
of local services.
- Facilitate networking with other local voluntary
organisations, statutory and private agencies to ensure there is co-ordinated
support for carers.
- Enable carers to discuss and identify their
own health and emotional support needs and to receive practical and emotional
support through access to groups, training and personal development opportunities.
- Promote and publicise the services and support
we offer in order to identify and reach all carers living in B&NES.
Values and Beliefs
Our Values
- Carers and former carers should
be considered as individuals in their own right with their own particular
needs and preferences. Support for carers should be holistic
addressing their emotional and practical needs in the context of those for
whom they care.
- Family,
friends and neighbours are the major providers
of community care. They carry out a demanding
role. Their views need to be listened
to, and their contribution and experiences understood,
valued and supported.
- Together with carers we should
promote equal access to, and provision of, high quality services.
- The
organisation is strengthened by working in partnership
with volunteers and the wider community.
- To enable carers to fully benefit
from our services our staff should be valued and supported.
