About Us

Who We Are

We are an independent charity and company limited by guarantee, funded mainly by Social Services
and the Primary Care Trust to support unpaid family carers in Bath and North East Somerset. We have
been working with Carers for over 10 years. Carers have been our main focus since 1999

What we do
It can often be difficult to know where to turn for information and support when someone becomes a
Carer. We offer practical information and the emotional support Carers need to make life easier for
them and the person they care for. We signpost Carers to the appropriate local or national services,
inform Carers of their rights and offer support where possible to enable people to get the services
they need

We provide short breaks for Carers to suit their individual needs and outings with other Carers. We also give Carers the opportunity to join with other Carers, to get their voices heard and influence changes in local services and improve the recognition of Carers

There are 16225 people in this area with a caring responsibility, many of whom may not realise they are a carer and are not aware of the information and support they are entitled to. Working with Carers, and health and social care professionals we also want to reach these hidden Carers and provide them with the information and choices they deserve
